Local Priorities Dangerous driving / speeding Message

I wanted to provide you with an update regarding dangerous driving and speeding, which some members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey.

On Monday the 8th of December officers from the South Harrow Tasking Team were on proactive patrols when they witnessed a vehicle driving at speed, a check showed that the vehicle was a high powered vehicle and was showing as uninsured. Officers managed to locate the vehicle a short while later and stopped the driver. The driver, who was just 16 years old, admitted to driving without insurance or a license and was reported to court for the offences
Ward Officer PC Parsons stated “We will take a robust approach to anyone committing driving offences in Harrow and report those who break the law. We have already seized a number of vehicles this month for various driving offences.

If someone is driving a motor vehicle, they should always be doing so in a safe and considerate manner. Even momentary lapses in judgement can have life changing or devastating consequences for those in the vehicle or innocent bystanders.
